Why this mattered then

In 1999 the interview gave Ccru's geotrauma material a single voice and a spurious CV, letting a body of theory circulate as the reported findings of a named researcher. That fixed geotraumatics as a coherent position rather than a scattering of motifs.

Geotraumatics. I came to Freud relatively late, associating it with oedipal reductionism, and more generally with a psychologistic stance that was simply irrelevant to cryptographic work.
