The Lemurian Time Engine

The eight temporal registers

The eight registers are the archive's editorial time-categories — not CCRU terms and not attestation statuses: each names a different kind of date a source can carry, and each keeps a persistent line style and glyph so meaning is never carried by colour alone.

1. Fictional / internal date id: fictional-internal-date · ring 0 · line style: dot · glyph: hollow-diamond · off the clock — ordered position, not a date

   A date asserted inside a fiction — a mythic year, a K-time tag, a deep-time event. Placed on the inner outer-time ring, never on the documentary clock, always shown verbatim. Where K-time appears: its zero (K0) is AD 1900 by canon, and the Gregorian value of K-tag offsets is undetermined — the engine asserts no linear year.

2. Documentary event id: documentary-event · ring 1 · line style: solid · glyph: filled-disc · on the documentary clock

   When it happened: written, founded, departed, died. The documentary clock's ground register.

3. Documentary publication id: documentary-publication · ring 2 · line style: long-dash · glyph: filled-square · on the documentary clock

   First printed or published; where a text enters the public record. A reprint is not a first publication and lives on the canonization ring instead.

4. Retrospective recollection id: retrospective-recollection · ring 3 · line style: dash-dot · glyph: open-circle · on the documentary clock

   Later remembered or recounted. Dated by the recollection, not by the thing recalled.

5. Later canonization id: later-canonization · ring 4 · line style: double · glyph: five-point-star · on the documentary clock

   Named canonical: anthologized, collected, or named a movement — always after the fact, and dated to the naming.

6. Interpretive anticipation id: interpretive-anticipation · ring 5 · line style: short-dash · glyph: up-triangle · on the documentary clock

   A dated reading that an earlier text anticipates a later one. The date is the reading's, not the texts'.

7. Machine recirculation id: machine-recirculation · ring 6 · line style: dash-double-dot · glyph: hexagon · on the documentary clock

   A dated capture of an AI system re-emitting CCRU material. Documentary about circulation and evidential for nothing else: a capture proves a source said a thing on a date, not that the thing is true.

8. Future address id: future-address · ring 7 · line style: long-dash-dot · glyph: down-chevron · off the clock — ordered position, not a date

   Addressed to the future; no real date. Placed on the rim, off the clock, ordered by hash rather than by time. These are the archive's registered questions and sealed letters, riding here by their Terminal identifiers.

The nine relationship types

Every chord carries a persistent line style and arrowhead; colour is a redundant accent, never the only signal. The chord's own status is the attestation of the connection, not of its endpoints.

1. precedes id: precedes · line style: solid · arrowhead: open-forward

   A comes before B; plain documentary order, asserted only where the order itself is part of the record.

2. anticipates id: anticipates · line style: dash · arrowhead: open-forward

   A is read as prefiguring B. Dashed because it is a reading, not a record; the chord's own status says how the reading stands.

3. retroactively-names id: retroactively-names · line style: dash-dot · arrowhead: backward-open

   A later name, tag, or invented date applied back to B; the chord reaches backward. This is also how a fiction's asserted date is tethered to the real publication where it entered the record.

4. reframes id: reframes · line style: long-dash · arrowhead: hollow-triangle

   A re-reads B under a new frame; B's meaning changes after the fact while B itself stays where it was.

5. reprints id: reprints · line style: double · arrowhead: filled-back

   A later object reproduces an earlier one; the chord reaches backward.

6. misattributes id: misattributes · line style: dash · arrowhead: barred

   A wrongly ascribes B, or is wrongly ascribed to B. Drawn as a visibly broken chord; a refuted misattribution stays on the record as an error of record.

7. corrects id: corrects · line style: solid · arrowhead: tee

   A corrects B. The correction is dated and published; the error it corrects is preserved, marked, never silently deleted.

8. predicts id: predicts · line style: dot · arrowhead: diamond

   A forecasts B. Judged at its review date; never upgraded by circulation or repetition.

9. replies-to id: replies-to · line style: dash-dot-dot · arrowhead: round

   A answers B; correspondence across the record, including replies to registered letters.

Attestation legend

Attestation status — how far the archive can stand behind a claim — is one of three independent axes here, separate from an event's temporal register and from a circuit's circulation status. Circulation never upgrades attestation.

Every dated appearance, grouped by its register in ring order (hub outward). On-scale registers are ordered by real date; the fictional ring by its verbatim date's sort key; the future-address ring by identifier.

   Barker's geotraumatics re-reads the K/T boundary event as a 'missile' strike: the fiction retroactively names deep time. The deep-time assertion sits at the hub, farthest from the documentary clock, and is never converted to a calendar position.

   Provenance: The 'Cryptolith' material's first venue is not fixed by the archive's canon sources; it is recorded from its later collected reprint (Fanged Noumena, 2011) only (AAP-LTE-0004). Barker is a fictional construct of the unit (AAP-BAR-0010).

   The AOE — 'an ultra-hermetic metamasonic white-brotherhood at war with lemurian influences' — has the Gregorian Restoration as its defining policy: the fiction re-tags the 1582 calendar reform as a counter-lemurian operation.    The matrix lore's origin story: the Nma, a tri-tribal Sumatran culture, 'devastated by Krakatau, 1883'. A real eruption reframed inside the fiction; the asserted date is shown verbatim and never joins the documentary clock. Any tie to a named Stillwell ethnography is unverified (AAP-LTE-0005).

   A K-time tag from the 'Cryptolith' material, shown verbatim. K-time's zero (K0) is AD 1900 by canon; the Gregorian value of the offset is undetermined and the engine asserts none (AAP-LTE-0006). Its ordering key here follows the canon epoch only — a sort position, not a date reading.

   'Beginning (in 1949) as a reading group dedicated to the hyperstitious reevaluation of Lovecraftian fiction' — the corpus plants a 1949 origin for a club that first exists in 1999's pages. The venue is canon-fixed: 'Tales from the Cthulhu Club', Digital Hyperstition, Spring 1999.

   The corpus span opens with Land's arrival in the Warwick philosophy department. The wheel's noon anchor: everything documentary sweeps clockwise from here.

   Founded around Sadie Plant in the philosophy department's margins. The founding is dated by recollection and institutional traces rather than by a founding document — a documentary event whose own paper trail is thin.

   The conference series that made the para-academic scene publicly visible and fed its web-era surfaces (AAP-VF-0012). Dated to the middle of the series; the programme record is held.

   Fisher's blog opens the diaspora's public-theory phase; the archive holds the blog archive by external mirror.

   The group blog runs the concept in public for four years; the coinage leaves the zines and takes to the open web.

   The blog begins recalling the unit within two years of starting: recollection starts early, and much later summary writing quietly depends on these posts rather than on the 1990s record.

   Provenance: Dated to the blog's mid-run; individual posts carry their own dates.

2. EVT-0036 · retrospective-recollection · date: 2011 Editors' recollections frame Fanged Noumena [derived] anchor: person:robin-mackay

   The editorial apparatus around the 2011 anthology recounts the Warwick years — a memoir register that later readers cite as history. The recollection is dated 2011; the years it recalls are not.

3. EVT-0037 · retrospective-recollection · date: 2010s (dated loosely) Participants recall recorded Warwick sessions [unverified] anchor: work:cybernetic-culture-lecture-tapes

   Recollections describe seminar and session recordings; no recording has surfaced (AAP-AUD-0008). The event on this ring is the recollecting, which is real and dated — what it recalls remains unverified.

   Blog-era criticism re-tags a 1993 philosophical coinage as the name of a 2000s musical mood. The name canonizes; the chord reaches back thirteen years to the coinage it renames.

2. EVT-0040 · later-canonization · date: c. 2010 'Accelerationism' named as a retrospective label [interpretive] anchor: concept:accelerationism

   The label arrives roughly sixteen years after the texts it names (AAP-ACC-0002). On the wheel the naming is an event with its own date — which is precisely what a timeline hides when it writes '1990s accelerationism'.

Interpretive anticipation (interpretive-anticipation · ring 5)

   The four-part characterization — 'fictions that make themselves real' — that later commentary treats as the definition. Recorded here as a dated reading, not a period fact; the practice it systematizes is fourteen years older.

2. EVT-0045 · interpretive-anticipation · date: c. 2023 Commentary reads hyperstition through machine learning [interpretive] anchor: concept:hyperstition

   2020s commentary reads 1990s hyperstition as anticipating machine-learning culture. A dated reading about anticipation — the engine records the reading's date and lets the claim stand as interpretation.

3. EVT-0046 · interpretive-anticipation · date: 2026 The archive reads the Time-Circuit as anticipating its instruments [interpretive] anchor: concept:numogram

   The anticlockwise strata-cycle fed by the three central syzygies (AAP-LTE-0007) read as a figure for the archive's own radial reading instruments — this dial included. An interpretive loop the engine declares rather than hides (AAP-LTE-0003).

   A dated capture of a model asserting the refuted attribution — with the 2013 date and the 1990s authorship in the same breath. Documentary proof the error circulates; proof of nothing else (AAP-LTE-0008). The archive holds the capture.

   A code repository is said to have reproduced the numogram's tables via a generation model. The repository was gone before the archive could mirror it: the event stays on the ring as an unverified assertion with an explicitly empty capture slot.

The Fictional Ring — Buried Dates

Two of five fictional dates cannot be traced to a first venue; they are anchored to a reprint and marked unverified rather than dated confidently.

Every fictional date is buried in a real publication. The ring shows the burial sites: where each invented year entered the record, which venues are canon-fixed, and which entries the archive cannot yet trace to a first appearance. Fiction's deep time never shares the publication ring.

The #ACCELERATE Misattribution Loop

The loop's members are attested; the loop itself is false. The misattributes chord carries refuted status and is drawn broken — the error preserved as an error of record.

A false loop preserved as an error of record: name applied backward, manifesto ascribed backward, a machine repeating the fusion, the archive correcting it. The broken chord is the exhibit; nothing about its circulation upgrades it.

Read forward from Meltdown, the corpus organizes itself as a single accelerationist lineage terminating in machine re-emission. This is the strongest continuous signal in the index provided.
